Allow us to introduce you to our facilitation team for this workshop. Each offering of our workshop is facilitated by a subset of these highly qualified and experienced professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and are eager to share their insights with you! 

Throughout the workshop, your facilitators will guide you through a variety of activities, discussions, and exercises designed to enhance your understanding of the subject matter. They are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where all participants can feel comfortable sharing their ideas and experiences. 

Margaret Verkuyl NP PHC, MN, CCSNE
Margaret Verkuyl is a Professor (Nursing) at Centennial College. She is a leader in developing and researching the effectiveness of virtual simulations. She developed an open access Virtual Healthcare Experience with many different virtual gaming simulations that have had millions of plays globally and won prestigious local, national and international awards. In addition, she has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored a book chapter and produced workshops on virtual simulation.                 

Louise-Andrée Brien RN, MScN, CCSNE
Louise-Andrée Brien, RN, MScN, CCSNE, is associate professor and academic director of the Centre d’Expertise en Simulation en Santé of the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She has been actively engaged in simulation-based education for almost 15 years and was recently involved in the French component of the Virtu-WIL/Virtu-AIT virtual simulation development project.             

Sandra Goldsworthy PhD, RN, MSc. CNCC(C), CCSNE
Dr. Goldsworthy is a Professor at Nipissing University. Dr. Goldsworthy has been teaching and conducting research in virtual simulation since 2006. She is frequently invited to present her research and consult on simulation nationally and internationally.

Treva Job PhD, BScN, PHCNP, RN(EC), MA Ed, CCSNE, CHSE, CHSOS
Dr. Treva Job is the Manager of the Simulation Centre for the Health Wellness and Sciences portfolio at Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario. Treva has been instrumental in supporting various programs in the adoption of simulation pedagogy and technology into the curriculum in both a virtual and lab environment. Her passion for simulation is reflected in her dissertation research, which focused on the Nurse Educator’s Application and Implementation of Simulation Pedagogy in the Nursing Curricula.           

Paula Mastrilli RN, MScN, PhD
Dr. Paula Mastrilli has extensive experience in coordinating and developing innovations in the delivery of healthcare education. Dr. Mastrilli is a key member of several multi-disciplinary teams that are creating virtual gaming simulations (VGS) in the healthcare field. In collaboration with her colleagues, she investigates the effective use of VGS in health care education. Their research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.           

Stephanie Ayres MEd, BScKin
Stephanie has over 20 years of experience in training program design and delivery and is passionate about professional development and looking for new and innovative ways to advance learning in healthcare. Stephanie has a Master’s in Education from the University of Western Ontario, a Post Graduate Certificate in Organizational Development and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. 

      

Geneviève Dottini RN, MScN
Geneviève Dottini, RN, MScN, has spent the last eight years as a simulation training advisor at the Centre d’expertise en simulation en santé (EXeSS) of the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She has applied her expertise to various endeavours such as co-designing an accredited online training course on debriefing, as well as helping design two virtual simulations as part of the VirtuWIL/Virtu-AIT project.         

Karine Rolland RN, MScN
Karine Rolland, RN, MScN, is a simulation training advisor at the Centre d’expertise en simulation en santé (EXeSS) of the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She is passionate about digital technologies and specializes in using them to create unique, innovative learning experiences. She has provided coaching on designing simulations for the Virtu-WIL/Virtu-AIT project to French-language educational institutions.         

Margaret Hoang RN, MScN(c)
Margaret Hoang, RN, MScN(c), is a simulation training advisor at the Centre d’expertise en simulation en santé (EXeSS) of the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She has a wide range of clinical expertise built over 10 years of working in a clinical setting, and is actively involved in integrating and deploying the Virtu-WIL/Virtu-AIT project’s simulation program among the Faculty’s students.
