Mirette DubeParticipant
Thanks for sharing Christine,
I’m happy to hear this tool and approach was helpful for you! As mentioned in our webinar- these needs assessment conversations can be a time where systems integration begins across groups and they are starting to learn what gaps actually exist, what they still may need to work on before even getting to simulation, and where to focus the simulations based on the highest priorities as you mentioned. Facilitation skills are very helpful here too (not just in the debrief that follows the sim:)!.
Thanks for sharing and we’ll see you next week,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantThanks so much for sharing Elena,
I’ve found that the bigger the project and the greater number of stakeholders- the more negotiating there may be on the evaluation objectives and sharing amongst groups to build understanding of everyone’s needs. You may not be able to simulate it all pending time, resources etc- although looking at where the highest risk, highest priority needs are across all the groups (and understanding what is actually changing) is helpful when its time to narrow down.
We’ll see you next week!
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantHi Brianna,
Closing the loop on this- I couldn’t agree more. I tend to cast my net as wide as possible with the engagement work, and advocate for having all the “right” people at the table. This can make or break your project and understanding of the system and group needs. Wonderful insight to share- thank you!
See you next week,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantThat’s great to hear Andy- thanks for sharing! See you next week,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantOK thanks so much for that feedback Stéphane,
It is under the tools section and I’ll relook at the naming-See you tomorrow,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantThanks Myrna and team,
That’s perfect you had a project example to work through with the needs assessment. We’ll talk more tomorrow about needs assessments- the questions you use can also really depend on where/when you’re brought into the project, what data you have, what you already know or don’t know that can help to narrow down your focus and determine your objectives (as some considerations).
We look forward to webinar #2,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantWelcome again Myrna,
We’re thrilled to have you and all of your experience in patient safety and QI is very well aligned with this course. It’s wonderful to have several members of the IDS team joining us, and we look forward to getting to know everyone more.See you again soon,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantWelcome again Sarah!
It was nice meeting you on Friday. Reach out if you need any tips on the Banff/Kananaskis area- there are some beautiful hikes in this area and close to where I live. (Mirette@HealthcareSSI.com)
Otherwise- your QI background is a wonderful asset and will come in very helpful as you move through the course.
We’ll see you again next week,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantWelcome Andy,
Thanks for sharing and we’re really happy to have you join us. The power of simulation and applied human factors is truly something when opening new spaces and testing processes- isn’t it!? It will be great to share learnings given you have experience in this area. We’re excited to have several members from the Immersive Design Systems team with us!
Also- I love the water as well as long as its not rough, so I can relate with your wife:)
See you soon,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantHi Christine!
It’s wonderful to have you and your background sounds fantastic! Hopefully you know Dr.Lennox Huang from SickKids who is one of our truly amazing faculty members:). Your background in quality improvement projects will be super valuable and we look forward to learning from each other as we go through the course.
As an aside- I’m fairly certain we’re all going to wish we were in Barbados with you! Such a lovely place and I share with you the love of travel. We’ll see you soon,
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantWelcome Stéphan,
Thanks so much for joining us! Your role sounds very interesting covering 4 facilities. We look forward to talking more about systems focused simulation and systems testing in healthcare, and hope this course adds another key piece to your toolbox in simulation in healthcare!
We’ll see you soon!
MiretteMirette DubeParticipantWelcome Elena!
It’s so wonderful to have you and thank you for leading the charge to include the B.C. Simulation network in this course.
Here in Alberta where I reside, we are situated on traditional territories of Treaty 7 and home to the Blackfoot (Siksika, Kainai and Piikani) Confederacy, and Nakota Sioux, Tsuu’tina and Métis (Region 3) Nations, and urban Indigenous populations.Thank you for starting us off in such a great way.I share your passion in using simulation for proactively testing these types of complex patient care events. I was involved with this recently with an EXIT (Ex Utero Intrapartum Treatment Procedure) in the OR- I’m curious if yours was a similar type of event. So very powerful!
Looking forward to chatting more soon,
Mirette
Mirette DubeParticipantWelcome Dani!
Thrilled to have you join us and will see you soon!,
