    Hi Sophia,

What great ideas! I am particularly drawn to your statement about simulation needing to occur in the simulation lab in order to be considered simulation. This may be a matter of creating some professional development with regards to simulation and the different levels of simulation. Simulation even low fidelity simulation does have its benefits and is something that can be incorporated into the classroom during a theory class. This being said, faculty would need some support with the implementation of such an activity. Consider bringing some lab equipment into the classroom and assist faculty in developing a brief skit that would be engaging to the students.

    Cheers,

    Hi Jaime,

This is a great idea to advance simulation for your organization. It would be worth while to explore your organization’s Strategic Plan and see if they have long term goals in place regarding the implementation of simulation in the curriculum. If so, you could align your goals with those of the organization.

I like Heather’s idea of Inter Professional Education (IPE) as part of faculty development. This being said, I do echo Heather’s thoughts surrounding IPE. It has been my experience that faculty are less likely to participate in IPE unless this is on their workload. With regards to faculty development, you could consider hosting smaller but worthwhile education sessions for your faculty. You could consider something along the lines of providing education sessions about new equipment that you may be using in your labs. While these sessions are smaller than IPE sessions, they still hold valuable information, especially for faculty who teach in the labs.

    Cheers,

    Lynn
